An evening hosted by Kirsten the owner of the Matawhero winery in Gisborne, New Zealand.
Sit back and enjoy a guided tasting of wines from the vineyard, whilst learning a little more about the history, production methods and beliefs.
Matawhero is the oldest estate in Gisborne, owners Kirsten & Richard Searle use a dry farming method to grow the grapes using only natural rainfall with no irrigation. This, together with fertile soils, long hot summers and a Pacific maritime climate, results in single vineyard wines which are terroir driven, with superior concentrated fruit flavours, a lovely weight and texture.
Crafting bold, distinct and vibrant wines, Kirsten and her team ensure Matawhero’s legendary style lives on in every bottle.
